SEHAT FOUNDATION (Safer, Effective, Healthier, Alternatives to Tobacco) was conceived, conceptualised and created by the Rs 1200 crore diversified Dalmia Group to provide safer and healthier alternatives to people of the world.

In 1990 the Dalmia Group established a research organisation at Coimbatore, called the Dalmia Centre for Research and Development to integrate traditional Indian Ayurvedic knowledge with modern science to find solutions to respiratory diseases like Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Fourteen years of intensive research produced solutions in the form of Astha-15™, a herbal relief for Asthma, Lung-KR™ herbal relief for COPD besides the Vardān™ and Chabbaza formulations as replacements to tobacco smoking and tobacco chewing.

Dalmia Consumer Care is a concept marketing company created to establish the concept of safer, healthier alternatives to tobacco smoking and tobacco chewing in India and throughout the world.

Dalmia Healthcare is an associate company of the Dalmia Group set up for market development for Asthma and COPD relief.

SEHAT intent is to engage individuals, corporates, NGOs, medical fraternity, government, bureaucrats, associations and regulatory authority representatives. Also included within the ambit of SEHAT will be competitors who manufacture, market or sell alternatives to Tobacco – whether smoking or chewing. The objective is to build a well-respected Association in the oral gratification segment that will be the nodal point for influencing decision making related to the industry.

SEHAT has made its debut as an Integrated Solutions Provider to build a world free of tobacco, addressing the menace like an NGO, but in a more complete way because it can offer a realistic solution to the problem. SEHAT will not merely ask the consumer to quit or give up the habit but will offer safer, healthier alternatives to tobacco smoking and tobacco chewing while simultaneously addressing the suffering caused by Asthma and COPD.
