Dalmia Centre for Research and Development (formerly Dalmia Centre for Biotechnology), has been in operation since 1992. It was established as a registered society under the Societies Act of 1860. The organization is ISO 9001-2008 certified and with a policy of customer satisfaction achieved through quality and service. This, in turn, is achieved through:
- Working as per laid down procedures and systems in research.
- Complying with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Continual improvement of the quality management system.
DCRD is accredited with the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR)-Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India Indian System of Medicine Department of Ayurveda Yoga and naturopathy, Unani Siddha and Homeopathy (Ayush) Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India. It is also affiliated to the Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, in the field of Plant Biotechnology.
A not-for-profit institution, DCRD is carrying out projects in the health segment with plants as the basis for development of new drug formulations. The research area ranges from different health segments.
DCRD is one of the premier laboratories, undertaking quality check of herbal raw materials and finished products. A number of commercial organizations and pharmacies following the Indian System of Medicine and Homeopathy regularly get their formulations tested at DCRD.
The Scientific staff in this organization is internationally recognized and has to their credit awards from leading national institutions. The challenge is to develop a better quality product, a better quality service that is delivered at a lower price, without cutting back on quality or quantity, to achieve customer satisfaction.
